The Moon Is Getting Closer — And Scientists Are Quietly Worried

So I was chatting with a friend last week about the tides being unusually strong lately, and it got me thinking — have you noticed how big the moon has looked recently? Turns out, there's actually a reason for that.
According to data I've been looking into, the moon has been gradually drifting toward Earth over the past decade — a reversal of its well-known outward drift. Scientists at a number of observatories have apparently been tracking this since around 2019, but it hasn't made mainstream news yet (funny how that works, right?).
The shift is subtle — we're talking centimetres per year — but the cumulative effect on tidal patterns, animal migration, and even human sleep cycles is becoming harder to ignore. Some researchers are even linking it to the uptick in extreme weather events we've seen globally.
Now, nobody's panicking. It's not like the moon is about to crash into us! But it does raise some interesting questions about what we assume we know about our solar system.
Worth keeping an eye on. Nature has a funny way of surprising us.
